American SpeedFest will have its biggest ever racing line-up when it returns to Brands Hatch on 1-2 June, with NASCAR racing and no fewer than five American-themed support race classes.
Action will be headlined by the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (NWES) as ever, with four thrill-a-minute stock car races across the weekend. The NWES is Europe’s only officially endorsed NASCAR championship, complete with colourful V8 machinery and plenty of contact.
For the first time ever, the line-up will include both the UK-based Legends and Pickup Truck Championships. Legends cars hark back to the beginning of NASCAR, with small-style hot rods, whilst the Pickup Trucks are reminiscent of similar machines which are raced on oval circuits in the USA.
One of the highlights of the support race line-up will be Bernie’s V8s, which has featured at every edition of the event to date. This will feature a grid of grizzling muscle cars in an Anglo-American battle royale.
Single-seaters return to the SpeedFest racing line-up too, with powerful F5000s from the ‘1970s. These machines are typically powered by Chevrolet V8 engines, and raced frequently in the USA in period. The category celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
