Three-time NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (NWES) champion Alon Day will return to CAAL Racing in 2021 to drive the #88 Monster Energy Chevrolet Camaro, including at Brands Hatch's American SpeedFest.
The Israeli driver is the most succesful in NWES history with 24 series wins to his name, more than any other driver. Day already holds the record for the most titles in the series at three, and would extend that further with a fourth crown in 2021.
The NWES is set to return to Brands Hatch for SpeedFest on 3/4 July, following the American extravaganza's enforced absence from the calendar in 2020. Day is something of a specialist at the Kent venue with three race wins on the Indy circuit to his name, alongside multiple 'King of Brands Hatch' titles.
Following one season with PK Carsport, Day returns to the CAAL team with which he won his first two titles.
The NASCAR grid at American SpeedFest this summer is set to be one of the best the event has welcomed yet, with Day lining up alongside a host of star names including 1997 F1 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve.
Day said: "I'm very happy to go back to CAAL Racing. It's my home team and I'm very excited to be back with them after one year. We won 20 races together and I'm sure the relationship between us is so good that we can chase this title together after we took a break. I'm very thankful for PK Carsport and what Anthony Kumpen and his team did for me in 2020. They will always be in my heart, I went through a hell of a year and I'm just so thankful. I hope we'll work again together in the future. I'm also grateful to have Monster Energy with me again, it's an honour to represent the brand and I really hope we can bring them new records and trophies."
The NASCAR Whelen Euro Series season will kick off on May 15-16 at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain and can be followed live on the EuroNASCAR social media platforms. American SpeedFest will be the championship's only UK visit on 3/4 July - click here for more information.
